This website has been on an obvious hiatus for a few months now without a word from myself. I apologize if there’s anyone out there who even want to read this anymore. My father passed away this past July, and I’ve been getting things back together over this period of time, focusing my efforts elsewhere. I can’t seem to find a way to fit the manga into my schedule anymore, at least for the time being. I want to get more of the plot flattened out before I continue anyway. Flying blind through this isn’t the proper way to tell a story. I want to make sure I have multiple pages completely fleshed out before I get to them so I don’t have to wait every single time I get to a page for it to be discussed. In other words I’m having to put this website on hiatus at least until I can get everything back together on this. Everyone involved (Jeff, Seung, and myself) were away from working on this manga for quite some time; we have to get the feel for it again so to speak.
The website might break from time to time as Jeff and I will be doing some changes to the server’s backend. I might take the website down during that time frame.
Until next time…
I’ve just realized that I’ve been neglecting this website quite a bit lately. If anyone still cares I haven’t forgotten nor have I cancelled Dark Phantasy. I still plan on doing more manga pages and add more features to the website, but my attention has been directed elsewhere. I’ve been doing designs for Opera Software to better my portfolio and working to pay for all the bills I have to pay just like everyone else out there.
I’ve started a blog again.… Continued
Whee! I am done with this page after so many days WISHING I could work on it. I also got a bit lazy in showing the progress, so this time around I jumped from Painting Backgrounds straight to completion! Maybe Hiro helped me out :D. I really enjoyed working on this page. It’s not my favorite of ‘em all, but I do like it, especially the 2nd panel.
This is also the last of this chapter. We originally had an idea of this chapter’s being about thirteen pages… Continued
My dad is in the hospital yet again, so time is limited… again. He’s doing much better now, but he’s going to be in there for a while so they can monitor him and get his medicine straightened out. I’ve worked on the page when I’ve had free time (which is mainly on the weekends). I’ve gotten quite a bit done considering the amount of time I’ve had to work on it. It just seems that on every page something comes up keeping me from doing it. Hopefully that’ll… Continued

Dark Phantasy began in 1997 as a series of idle doodles in Dustin Wilson’s school notebook and has since grown into a full-color online manga produced by three people. Now, as well as a work of fiction, Dark Phantasy is a work of passion, a tangible expression of our love for sequential art and storytelling.
Dustin Wilson was a freshman attending West Monroe High School in West Monroe, Louisiana when he first conceived the kernel of Dark Phantasy. The original idea was for a console-style role-playing game on a personal computer, and a manga. Having plenty of free time as a high school student, he spent his time improving his drawing skills and searching around the infant World Wide Web in search of a way to produce his RPG on his computer. He stumbled upon an RPG engine called VERGE.
The original version of VERGE was a simple RPG development engine without many capabilities—or indeed much promise—though a second version was released while… Continued
